  • After a decade-long effort, the Ramos family got a guardrail installed to protect their home, which two weeks ago sustained damage when a third car veered off the road (the house remains safe). Katie Ramos has contacted the city for repairs while the family continues to live there.  Western Mass News

  • BusinessWest is accepting nominations for its 12th annual 40 Under Forty Alumni Achievement Award until Thursday, Apr. 9. Finalists will be featured in BusinessWest and the winner will be announced at the PeoplesBank+MassMutual Center gala on Thursday, June 11.  BusinessWest
  • Herrell’s Ice Cream will debut five new flavors from the UMass Food Science Department’s 2025 Ice Cream Competition on Friday, March 13 — available at its Mill District and Thornes Marketplace locations.  BusinessWest

  • American International College is honoring alumnus John Buonani with an exhibit featuring his art, writing, and music that runs through March 30 at the Karen Sprague Cultural Arts Center (1000 State St. in Springfield). ECONOMY NEWS

  • At E. Cecchi Farms, co-owner Michael Cecchi said fertilizer for vegetable fields may cost more due to the conflict in the Middle East, although greenhouse supplies remain secure. He expects a supplier quote within a month & will decide on alternatives before the farm opens Easter weekend as higher costs could raise vegetable prices.  Western Mass News
