  • Eat is set to reopen in its new, larger Worthington St. space downtown mid-to-late-April, offering a roomy dining area and a bigger kitchen with separate systems for vegan and regular dishes. Loyal customers will soon experience improved service + a mindful dining approach at Eat.  MassLive

  • Hip hop star Ice Cube will perform at The Big E Arena on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets & fair admission will go on sale Friday, Mar. 13 at 10 a.m.  Western Mass News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Springfield jumped by 40 cents from last week; AAA reported that Monday, regular gas rose from $2.78 to $3.27 while mid-grade, premium and diesel prices also increased statewide.  MassLive

EDUCATION NEWS

  • City officials are finalizing negotiations to purchase land for a new Gerena School – expected to cost at least $131 million and open in fall with 45 classrooms for 818 students. A community meeting on March 24 will review the preliminary design plans and gather local feedback.  MassLive
  • The BBB of Central New England has opened applications for the 2026 Barbara J. Sinnott Student of Integrity Scholarship, awarding ($1,000) to five seniors who uphold strong ethical values.   • The Springfield Department of Public Works announced it is adding an extra crew to repair pothole damage on city roads as weather improves; officials say the repairs will take time and urge residents to report issues through 311.  Western Mass News
