  • Springfield Rotary Club is inviting registered nonprofits to apply for 2026 grants awarding up to $2,000 for capital improvement projects (applications must clearly state purpose and expected outcomes). Applications are due by 5 p.m. on April 10.  BusinessWest
  • Springfield Technical Community College celebrated 15 years of the GoFresh Mobile Market on Wednesday evening with partners like Wellspring Harvest. The program brings fruits and vegetables to various neighborhoods and accepts hip coupons (food stamps and senior coupons) to support local food equity.  Western Mass News
  • Springfield resident Hassan Mourad, stranded in Lebanon amid conflict, has turned his ordeal into humanitarian work by delivering food, diapers, and meals for Ramadhan to displaced families, working with local charities (Amity Foundation, Banin Charity Association, and Wish Foundation), even as his plans to return home remain delayed.  The Reminder

  • West Springfield high school senior Siobhan Erris Ginty will serve as the town’s Colleen for the 2026 St. Patrick’s Parade on March 22; she follows her aunt (the 1995 Colleen) and will lead a court of five fellow seniors.  MassLive

  • American Heart Association and 10 groups have updated guidelines recommending cholesterol screening start at age 30 to help prevent heart disease. Dr. Quinn Pack (Baystate Medical Center) said early testing and treatment can keep cholesterol levels in check.  Western Mass News
