- ➤ Forest Park Zoo invites families to its Eggstravaganza event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. where the Easter Bunny will greet guests and children will follow the Bunny Trail to collect prize-filled eggs and receive free books from a local nonprofit. MassLive

- ➤ Joe McMahon has been named president of the O’Connell Companies as Jim Sullivan retires after 44 years, and McMahon will maintain his role as CFO. The new appointment takes effect June 1 and the Holyoke native aims to guide the company’s next chapter (continuity for future growth). BusinessWest

- ➤ Springfield Museums invites visitors to the 'Book of Wonder, Cover to Cover' exhibit at the Michele and Donald D’amour Museum of Fine Arts, where repurposed books create interactive art displays like poppies and a life-size dog; the exhibit runs until Sept. 6 (featuring recycled materials) (and innovative design). - ➤ Springfield Technical Community College has announced College for Kids, a summer program for students ages 11 to 16 running June 22 to Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays that offers hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, business, and leadership (tuition is $260 per week). - ➤ More than 300 fire departments across the Bay State received $5M in grants for critical safety gear after the Healey-Driscoll Administration announced the program — 60 Western Mass departments, including Chicopee, Holyoke, South Hadley, Easthampton and Northampton, were named as recipients. - ➤ Pfizer is testing VALOR, a new Lyme disease vaccine that is showing 73% effectiveness so far & the FDA will review trial results before approval, which could delay public availability by a year or two.
