- ➤ After their owner was killed in a murder-suicide in March 2024, two rescue dogs (Spanky, Darla) who suffered trauma spent a year in a shelter before finding their forever home on April 14 with a Massachusetts couple, Mike Pollock and Karen Roy, who vowed to care for them in Loren Marino's memory. - ➤ A driver left I-91 on Thursday and crashed into nearby woods—he was the only one in the car and was hospitalized with serious injuries but is expected to survive. Western Mass News
- ➤ In Springfield, a woman was burned by sulfuric acid when a container opened on a sorting machine at an Indian Orchard post office — hazmat teams were called because the label was illegible — and she was taken to the hospital where she is expected to be okay. Western Mass News

- ➤ The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court reinstated a first-degree murder conviction for Luis Gomez in the 2018 shooting death of Jesus Flores in Springfield—finding that the trial judge abused his discretion by reducing the charge to second-degree murder; Gomez now faces a life sentence.
