  • A local pizzeria on Island Pond Road reopened on Wednesday under a new name — Antonio’s Pizza Group — while keeping its popular classics on the menu. Owner Walter Pacheco said the change promises continued community engagement through quality food and service.  Western Mass News

  • Nicole Blais, CEO of HCS Head Start, was named 2026 Leader of the Year by the Massachusetts Head Start Association for her 30 years of service to early childhood programs in Holyoke, Chicopee, and Springfield (recognition honors her journey from a Head Start child to a leader).  BusinessWest
  • Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts will host its 28th annual golf tournament on Friday, June 5 at Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston.   • The Springfield Thunderbirds began their 2026 playoff push Wednesday night when game one went on at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte and local fans gathered at MGM Springfield at TAP Sports Bar and Grill — enjoying raffle draws, specials and an appearance by mascot Boomer until 8 p.m.  Western Mass News
  • Springfield College will host the NCAA Division III men's volleyball tournament soon, inviting local fans to see competitive play (a chance to cheer for rising talent) on campus.  Western Mass News
