- ➤ Three people were arrested in Springfield for an armed robbery on Wednesday when cameras captured an assault at School and High Streets+ police found a gun under a car, and the suspects—Manuel Torres, 27, Denis Rivera, 45, and Jordan Lazu, 30—face several gun-related charges while the victim suffered serious head injuries. - ➤ A Springfield man was convicted for shooting a bar cook at a Holyoke pub on December 17th, 2022—after an argument over a sandwich—and he was sentenced to 18 to 20 years for armed assault with intent to murder and an additional 3 to 5 years for illegal firearm possession. Western Mass News

CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Springfield Armory Historic Site will soon show a rare rifle that was stolen decades ago after someone erased its serial numbers and changed parts to hide its origin — the FBI now holds the gun pending court proceedings. Museum staff plan to display the rifle when it is returned, marking the end of a long search for lost items. MassLive

- ➤ Wilbraham & Monson Academy announced a $20 million project to restore its historic chapel and convert it into a dining commons that will serve as a new hub for campus life.
