  • Henry Winkler, the Happy Days star, met hundreds of fans from across the Pioneer Valley at Zombie Hideout Comics, Collectibles and More on Cooley Street on Saturday after scheduling delays postponed his appearance for three years.  Western Mass News

  • Springfield International Charter School will host its prom at The Log Cabin (a popular local venue) to give students a chance to enjoy a memorable evening with classmates.   MassLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Springfield’s Saint James Avenue Bridge will be closed Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for repairs (abandoned railroad), and drivers should expect posted detours with delays.  Western Mass News
  • A panel of experts, including AARP Massachusetts (Jen Benson) and Greater Springfield Senior Services (Anna Randall), discussed how the Big Beautiful Bill would affect elder care and caregiver services at the Marriott Hotel in Springfield on Friday, May 8.  MassLive

  • Antique sports cars raced up a steep, mile-long stretch of Monson Road at the Wilbraham Hill Climb on Saturday, May 9. Spectators and racers from nearby states cheered from behind plastic barricades (including a young boy with early racing dreams) as officials recorded multiple timed attempts.  MassLive
  • At Minnechaug Regional High School's game, junior Sophia Kozub set a season-high with six goals and an assist, though the Falcons lost 13-11 to Grafton on Saturday, May 9. The team will face Northampton on Monday, May 11 at 7 p.m.  MassLive
