- ➤ Yesterday morning, downtown Springfield hosted the World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast, where organizers served pancakes, bacon, coffee, and orange juice to thousands from 8 to 11 a.m., setting a new record with 70,000 free ticket requests and featuring a patriotic flash mob (part of the 250th anniversary festivities). - ➤ After a 5-4 win over Easthampton on Friday, May 15, Westfield Tech ended its season at 13-3 and will face Mount Greylock in the Western Mass. Class C Quarterfinals (tomorrow at 4 p.m.). MassLive
- ➤ Red Sox second baseman Marcelo Mayer said he is frustrated with his hitting after a game-tying homer Friday at Truist Park. Interim manager Chad Tracy hopes Mayer's strong play at second base will help spark a better offensive turn in upcoming games. MassLive
