Two Springfield men were indicted on federal drug trafficking charges for distributing crack cocaine and fentanyl in Vermont last fall — they pleaded not guilty during separate arraignments in Burlington and remain held without bail on pending state homicide charges.

The Springfield City Council voted 13-0 last week to approve a new 5,000-gallon diesel tank at the Peter Pan Bus Lines garage on 11 Liberty St.—The move will let Peter Pan resume fueling its vehicles onsite at lower wholesale rates after removing a temporary 500-gallon tank, following a meeting with Metro Center Association members to review safety concerns.
