- ➤ Bob Costello, 91, a former Marine from Agawam, continues to lead military funerals at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery as Memorial Day nears. He directs a dignified ceremony (flag folding, rifle salutes, and symbolic shell presentation) that honors the service of local veterans. MassLive
- ➤ Members of VFW Post 9397 cleaned Hampden’s parade route on Saturday, removing about 200 to 300 pounds of trash ahead of today’s Memorial Day celebrations. The effort shows local veterans’ ongoing service (and hands-on help) in keeping neighborhoods safe. Western Mass News

- ➤ White Lion Brewing launches a summer series at its Pridelands beer garden across from Tower Square starting June 3, with free live music at lunchtime and after-work socials and Latin nights every other Friday. - ➤ The Springfield Central baseball team beat Longmeadow 8-7 in the Class A championship game on Saturday, May 23 at Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke.
