  • Teens and young adults in Springfield face slow summer job hiring as businesses in food service, landscaping, and retail hire fewer new workers, according to MassHire Springfield. The agency suggests seeking volunteer work to help build experience for future opportunities.  Western Mass News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Veritas Prep Charter School celebrated its first-ever graduating class of 77 seniors on Thursday when cap and gown events were held in the middle school; some students earned extra college credits through partnerships with Springfield Technical Community College and Worcester State University.  Western Mass News
  • Holyoke Credit Union finished its 2026 Children's Book Drive by gathering 534 children's books valued at over $4,100 from donations and a local business purchase & delivering them to local schools.
