  • A lottery player in Brockton claimed a $1 million win on the new Strike it Rich game Friday at Grab N Go, while another in Holyoke won $100,000 on a Millions ticket; at least 582 prizes were reported across the state, including 18 in Springfield.  MassLive

  • At Friday's state tournament games, SICS pulled off a five-set comeback win over Veritas Prep (earning a Round of 16 berth) while Longmeadow swept Southwick; both teams now await their next matchups.  MassLive
  • At a game Friday, the Red Sox had their fourth player thrown out at home plate in six games with Gasper failing in a crucial play — coach Tracy said the team will review the aggressive baserunning tactics if problems persist.  MassLive
  • At the State Championship at Westfield State University on Saturday, May 30, Mount Greylock girls finished second after Nora Lopez’s season-best javelin while Abington won the boys contest with five first-place events.
