  • Radio host Dan Williams retired from Rock 102 + Mix 93.1 after nearly 50 years on air; he and his wife are building a new home in South Carolina.  MassLive
  • Western Mass Wheelers launches a volunteer program to offer free, custom-adapted tricycle rides for seniors and those with mobility challenges this summer along scenic rail trails and quiet streets. The nonprofit plans to provide 1,000 rides to help residents enjoy the outdoors safely.  MassLive
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services announced that MLKFS GIVE$ Day will take place tomorrow — a 24‑hour online event to strengthen local programs for children, families, and neighbors across Springfield.   • CPA societies from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont have approved a merger to form the New England Society of CPAs, effective July 1.   • Pop-punk band All Time Low (formed in 2003) will perform at Big E on Sunday, Sept. 27. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday as the fair gears up for a high-energy show.  Western Mass News

  • Holyoke Community College will award 849 degrees and 781 certificates during its 79th commencement at the MassMutual Center in Springfield this Saturday. Student orator Yasmari Cardenales will deliver remarks as graduates from 71 communities gather to celebrate their achievements.  MassLive

  • On Monday, Springfield held a moment of reflection at 4:38 p.m. to mark 15 years since a 2011 tornado caused widespread damage, and Mayor Sarno recalled how state and federal support helped rebuild homes and businesses (three lives were lost in the broader region).  New England Public Media

  • West Springfield resident Theodore 'Ted' Pinkerman — at risk — needs a living kidney donor as his Stage 4 disease progresses and his wait for a donor may last years.
