- ➤ William Hernando Usma Acosta, who lived under an alias for nearly 30 years after being accused of a 1994 murder in Colombia, was deported from Massachusetts days before the statute of limitations expired—ending his evasion of justice. MassLive
- ➤ Springfield police reported that victims lost over $624,000 in bitcoin scams since January 2024, and more than $1 million in total from scams; fraudsters posing as law enforcement are urging people to use bitcoin ATMs — a tactic police warn everyone to avoid — as authorities continue their investigation.
