Good morning, Springfield.

Last Friday, a Massachusetts lottery player won $100K on a $1 Mass Cash ticket purchased at Jenrose Wines and Liquors in Chicopee by matching the numbers (1, 7, 15, 24, 27).

This win was one of several prizes claimed statewide this week.

The Red Sox returned Anthony Seigler to the leadoff spot Saturday night in Anaheim (after a night off) as they faced the Angels in a three‐game series, with Sonny Gray starting on the mound and lineup shifts placing Romy Gonzalez at DH and Willson Contreras back at first base.

The Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Association announced its all-league honors for boys and girls tennis earlier this week.

Belchertown and Ludlow led boys while Longmeadow and St. Mary’s led girls — each with seven honorees.

Local soccer fans gathered at Ludlow's historic Lusitano Stadium on Thursday to watch a World Cup 2026 match between Portugal and Croatia.

The event brought community members together to celebrate soccer heritage and enjoy local cuisine like piri piri chicken.
