- ➤ Springfield city officials launched the return of pedal-style swan boat rentals at Porter Lake in Forest Park this summer — the four-seater boats are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. — for $5 a half-hour ride with lifeguards on duty and flotation devices provided. - ➤ Three people were injured in a crash at the intersection of Cooper and Sedgwick Streets in Springfield on Saturday around 3:20 p.m. (two adults and one child) as emergency crews (who extricated one person from a vehicle) responded to the scene, and the injuries were not serious.
