- ➤ West Springfield updated its war memorial on the Town Common to honor local heroes who served from the American Revolution to today's fight against terrorism. The memorial will be officially reopened on Wednesday, August 7 at 10 a.m. — the ceremony will begin with a ribbon cutting followed by a Purple Heart ceremony. MassLive
- ➤ On Saturday, Brew at the Zoo at Forest Park in Springfield was a sold-out fundraiser — featuring cold beer from over two dozen breweries and animal encounters like Ella the vocal cockatoo — that supported the zoo's yearly operations. MassLive
- ➤ Riders gathered Sunday across the region to help end homelessness and began their ride from Sheldon Harley Davidson (in Auburn) at 10:30 a.m. They arrived at the Springfield Rescue Mission (on Mill Street) around 12 p.m. to raise funds and awareness for meals, shelter, and job training for over 300 locals.
