ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters extinguished a 16-hour blaze at a scrap metal yard on Page Boulevard near Chet's Auto Wrecking and cleared the scene around 10:30 a.m. Saturday while investigators began searching for its cause; residents were told to stay indoors with windows shut because thick black smoke affected the area. - ➤ An abandoned 39,500 square foot theater in downtown Springfield has been transformed into the Hope Center for the Arts, a free creative space for local youth housed inside the Columbus Center parking garage on Bridge Street and led by Robert Bolduc of Hope for Youth & Families.
