- ➤ A local East Longmeadow business is using its new food wagon to collect nonperishable food donations to help those in need until December 15. Owner Stan Prager said he was motivated by concerns over SNAP benefits and the drive is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.—donations so far have weighed over 100 pounds. - ➤ On Nov 13, Dakin Humane Society held its humane awards at its Springfield facility and honored six individuals, one company and one guide dog for their work with animals. Award winners included Katelin Welles, Trystan Candelario, Dr. Lauren Atkins, Melissa Dawn Vancini, David Roulston & guide dog Bernie, Berkshire Bank and Charlotte Cathro, each recognized for their unique contributions.
