USPS Operation Santa is underway as children mail their wishes to Santa and the service asks Springfield residents to adopt a letter by selecting a gift online to be shipped by Dec 13—helping ensure gifts arrive for Christmas.

The program began on Nov 17 and lets adopters choose either single or family letters to brighten the season.
