- ➤ Rock 102 wrapped up its 32nd annual Mayflower Marathon food drive last week at MGM Springfield, raising $260,000 in donations to support Open Pantry Community Services and honor former co-host John O’Brien—who helped launch the event. BusinessWest
- ➤ The Springfield Boys and Girls Club has kicked off its annual Festival of Trees at the MassMutual Center, where over 110 decorated trees are on display and local entertainment is featured — all raffle proceeds support the club and its community programs. The event will run until December 14. Western Mass News
- ➤ The Food Bank of Western Mass’s 16th march raised over $830,000 over two days from Nov. 24 to Nov. 25—surpassing its $650,000 goal—and covered 43 miles to fund more than 1.5 million meals. The event also featured the first Berkshire Mini-March in Pittsfield and drew praise from local leaders such as Rep. Jim McGovern and Gov. Maura Healey. BusinessWest

- ➤ The Springfield City Council granted a special permit to Patrick Gottschlicht to convert a long-vacant office building on East Columbus Ave—the former Howard Johnson’s—into a 39-unit apartment complex with one-bedroom apartments and studios renting for about $1,200 to $1,400 a month. Gottschlicht said he will gut the interior and add a second access from Bruno Street to ease the current entry challenges, and local civic groups have endorsed the project. MassLive
