About this event
25 YEARS OF INDEPENDENT HIP-HOP EXCELLENCE!
FROM LAWRENCE TO AMHERST TO THE WORLD… AND BACK AGAIN!
Genuine Culture, LLC and Thump Capsule, in collaboration with De La Luz Soundstage, proudly present REKS: Along Came the Chosen — 25th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration!
Before becoming one of underground hip-hop’s most respected lyricists, REKS was a young b-boy from Lawrence, MA, who attended UMass Amherst before leaving to pursue his dream of becoming an MC.
That dream became a reality in 2001 with the release of his debut album, Along Came the Chosen, launching an incredible independent career that includes collaborations with legendary producers DJ Premier, The Alchemist, and Statik Selektah!
Now, 25 years later, REKS RETURNS TO WESTERN MASS to celebrate the album that started it all!
Special Guests: Dio Gin, Nickali Vocals, Truck Julius and Akrobatic
DJ Rec on the turntables!
De La Luz Soundstage | Holyoke, MA
This is more than a concert. It’s a homecoming, a celebration of Massachusetts hip-hop history, and a tribute to the independent spirit that keeps the culture alive!
REAL HIP-HOP. REAL HISTORY. REAL CULTURE.
