About this event
The Five College Early Music Program presents: Americana & Its Roots
Join us and be transported from a 17th c. meetinghouse to an 18th c. front porch to a 19th c. dance floor through the music of Pioneer Valley shape note singers, Black fiddlers, Appalachian balladeers, and more. For this non-concert, exploring the soundtrack to people's everyday lives, we hope that you'll engage as they might have: bring knitting or sewing, play a card game, doodle, clap along, sing a shape note tune with us, and even learn a dance!
Listed by Mount Holyoke College Events (Localist), gathered by the Springfield events calendar.
