About this event
The Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra honors the pioneering spirit of its founder through music by two remarkable women separated by more than a century.
Elfrida Andrée's powerful Second Symphony, a landmark of nineteenth-century orchestral writing, is paired with Jennifer Higdon's luminous Blue Cathedral, a meditation on memory, hope, and transcendence that has become one of America's most beloved contemporary orchestral works.
• Elfrida Andree - Symphony No. 2 in A Minor
• Jennifer Higdon - Blue Cathedral
